A Day in Crazyville

My first attempt at using my camera and editing a video. It's super long, but the memories and expressions are well worth it in my opinion ;) Here is a typical day in Crazyville!

Wood Kid Progress Note

Just a note for myself! I don't think I've recorded much progress lately so I just don't want to forget! Miley & Ollie are 15 months old now. Miley doesn't walk... she runs...everywhere! The girl only has one speed and she is nimble. Tonight she was trying to do somersaults. She loves to fall down and roughhouse. She gets up with the biggest grin and chuckle. She is saying words now too. She's saying "Momma" (music to my ears), "Dog", "Go", "Mimi (milk)" and I swear there are a few more in there that I haven't confirmed yet :) She has her two middle bottom teeth and one top front tooth fully in with the other halfway exposed...she's in the "snaggle tooth phase" :)

Ollie is a big ball of love. He is the more sensitive of the two. He gets his feelings hurt quite easily, especially at the word "No". He's got his two top and two bottom front teeth with the next two coming in on each side on top. He still has his adorable little toddle/waddle. He moves MUCH slower than Miley with much more of a mission in mind whereas Miley runs around spontaneously and can change direction at any time. Ollie is much more quiet. He likes to observe and take things in. He LOVES music. He was following his daddy around the house this evening playing the harmonica. He can't keep his body still the second he hears music. He is also becoming quite the hitter and toy/food/anything thrower. Boy thing? I don't know but he's not making any friends with that behavior! ;)

The twins interact so much now, bringing each other their sippy cups, sharing food from their trays and playing chase. That's my latest favorite past time—watching them run circles around the house giggling. Miley can literally run laps around Ollie right now but I'm sure that will change someday! He's got a lot more weight to lug around :)

Quincy is doing great in Kindergarten so far. It's slowly becoming a routine. Her favorite things these days are playing "Mommy, pretend you're the sister... Mommy, pretend you're the baby...Mommy, pretend you're the teacher...you get the idea!" She has also been loving Legos lately and I have to say, they're my favorite toy she's had thus far. I can't believe I went ugh-ugh, 30-something years without knowing I love Legos!

That's about it for now. I just wanted to make sure I noted these things so when I'm old in my rocker I have something to go back and read :)

Everyday life... and my fab niece Tessi

My niece has been spending a lot of time with us, helping out with the kids this summer. She's also taken an interest in photography and has been my personal photographer, which has been awesome! These are just some pics she caught one day around the house. Seriously, watch out... she's gonna make a name for herself someday. Watch out Annie Leibovitz!

Quincy's a Kindergartener (sob, sob)

I can't believe our 5 year journey to school is over! How did time go by SO FREAKING FAST? While I am sobbing, Marshal is celebrating. No more daycare cost! Ha ha. Actually, he was a bigger nervous wreck than I was. He loves his little girl SO MUCH and it's adorable how much he worries about her. We were both there for her big first day, prepared for tears and drama. She totally surprised us though. She walked in, found her desk and immediately began coloring. When we told her we were leaving she just waved goodbye. I think it was me who didn't want to go so I said, "Quincy, really, we're leaving now." She just waved goodbye again and that was that!

She already LOVES her teacher, Mrs. Horn. She's been doing great so far (3 weeks in). Mrs. Horn even told us she'd love to clone Q and that she's "smart as a whip"... who knew? ha ha. We have preschool to thank for that!  She must cooperate a lot better for anyone other than her parents ;)

Mermaid Splash: Quincy's 5th Birthday Party

THE INVITATION:

SETTING THE MOOD:

THE BIRTHDAY GIRL: (Ha Ha... the "smile" cracks me up)

THE IMPROMPTU PRE-PARTY NAP WITH PAPA:

THE SPECIAL MEMORIES:
All the photos in this section were taken by family and friends. I was WAY too busy to even find a camera so my friend/colleague Richard Walters and my 12-year-old-photographic-genius niece lent a hand at the camera work for me.

"The Magical Mermaid" was a benefit of living a few doors down from the owner/founder of Fancy Faces Parties!

THE REST THAT WAS JUST TOO MUCH TO SHOW!
